IN PRAISE OF SHADOWS

A collection of three pieces inspired by iconic chairs from different eras -  a Louis XVI Medallion chair, Thonet’s Model 14 Bentwood chair and Jacobsen’s Ant chair.  Images of the original pieces were turned into stylised silhouettes, compressing the subtleties of the original to a simpler pictorial representation. These were then extruded back to three dimensions, creating familiar unfamiliar objects.
